Sustainability

Commitment

Our major priority is to build energy efficient ecosystems to serve our clients, the community and the world. For this reason, we have taken on the commitment to integrate sustainable practises in all our projects, operations and processes. Our actions are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 5 (Gender Equality); SDG 7 (Clean and Accessible Energy); SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth); SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure); SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

As a reference we have adopted the Performance Standards of the International Finance corporation (IFC), which offers guidelines for the identification, management and mitigation of risks and socio-environmental impacts. These standards also promote the engagement of interested parties, and transparency about the project’s performance, strengthening our responsible actions. We depend on 13 regulatory documents aligned to the IFC standards, which govern the management of socio-environmental issues.

Results

Our commitment to sustainability is real, and translates into measurable results and important recognitions:

  • We have been able to avoid producing 83,164 tonnes of CO2 emissions through our energy production solutions (taking into consideration the period from January 2022 until December 2024, and using, as a comparison, the emission factors from the National Interconnected System, updated monthly by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation).
  • We undertake an annual inventory of our greenhouse gas emissions, published in the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program. The quality and transparency of the process won us the Silver Seal in 2022, and 2023, and the Gold Seal in 2024.
  • We are signatories to the United Nations Global Pact, the largest initiative for corporate sustainability in the world, highlighting our commitment to the universal principles in the areas of human rights, work, environment and the fight against corruption.
  • We structured and applied the social and environment management system (SGS), a collection of rules and procedures that integrate socio-environmental responsibility into the heart of the activities and decisions of the company, promoting the continual improvement and alignment to international IFC standards.
  • We developed a protocol to identify the main risks Resulting from the intensifying climate change, projecting scenarios into 2040. The document also evaluates the transitional risks for businesses, and spotlights strategic weather-related opportunities, strengthening our capacity for adaptation and resilience.
